VisitRochester.com Recognized as "Best of Web"
Visit Rochester, the official tourism promotion agency for Monroe County and Greater Rochester, has been recognized as a “Best of the Web” award winner at the Rochester Business Journal’s annual awards ceremony recognizing Rochester’s best business websites. VisitRochester.com was awarded the title of “Best of the Web” in the tourism/hospitality category.
Visit Rochester’s website was designed and developed by Simpleview, the industry leader in web design for destination marketing organizations.
The very first Visit Rochester website (also designed by SimpleView) went live in 2001. The organization’s website recently underwent a major redesign in 2015 with the new site launching in October 2015.
With the new site, Visit Rochester is able to manage the content of the website in real-time through a dynamic CMS tool. In addition, the new site provides additional opportunities for Visit Rochester members to manage their listings and events on the site. The new website offers Visit Rochester members new options including Yelp integration, Google maps, social media links and images within their member listing. This in turn enables Visit Rochester to better serve visitors to our community.
Judge’s at the Best of the Web awards ceremony praised the website’s use of “bold, beautiful photography,” the site’s architecture and responsive design, as well as the organization’s use of social media to share all that there is to see and do in Rochester, N.Y., and the Finger Lakes with visitors.
