Flights & Airport

Just three miles from downtown Rochester, the Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport is a travel hub that welcomes more than 2.7 million passengers annually and handles more than 500 flights a week. The modern two-story terminal is comfortable, easy to find and navigate, and ranks high nationally for affordability.

Flights

Major airline carriers serve flights from the airport, including Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines. 

The Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport offers over 15 non-stop destinations including east coast favorites like NYC and Boston to tropical destinations like Miami or Orlando. Additional destinations with connections to cities are also available. Passengers should visit their designated airline website for additional flight information.

Getting To and From the Airport

The airport is served by Rochester Regional Transit Service (RTS) buses throughout the day. RTS bus schedules are available at the Visitors Information Booth near Baggage Claim,  by phone, (585) 288-1700, or through their free mobile app “Where’s My Bus” which gives you real-time bus schedules and updates.

Many taxi companies are available for ground transportation and can be hailed in front of the main terminal, center entrance, lower level. Passengers can also opt for ridesharing services from Uber and Lyft. 

Car rental counters at the airport are located on the lower level adjacent to the baggage claim area and offer national chains such as Enterprise, Hertz, and Avis.

Many Rochester hotels offer exclusive free shuttle service to and from the airport. Arriving passengers can use the hotel courtesy phones on the lower level at the east and west end of the main terminal to arrange their transportation.

Several private shuttle operators provide ground transportation seven days a week to and from the airport as well as to area businesses, hotels, and surrounding suburbs.
