Visit Rochester Launches Tourism Reopening and Recovery Committees

As our region prepares for a safe reopening, Visit Rochester, the official tourism promotion agency for Monroe County, has announced the formation of a series of tourism recovery-focused committees comprised of representatives of the tourism and hospitality industry in Rochester and the Finger Lakes.

The organization is repurposing its existing 2020 Visitor Industry Council (VIC) committees and task forces to focus on tourism reopening and recovery. Visit Rochester has also created several new segment specific committees, including hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The Visitor Industry Council is Visit Rochester's unique member engagement program that brings together member organizations to increase business and pursue common interests.

Under the structure of the VIC committees, Visit Rochester members are invited to join forces with their fellow members and discuss reopening/recovery strategies, plans, best practices, and more. All Visit Rochester members are welcome to participate in a committee that is of interest to their organization or your role within your organization.

The work and findings of the recovery-focused committees will be shared with members and the community on an ongoing basis at Visitor Industry Council monthly meetings as well as on the Visit Rochester website.
