Maker Faire Rochester celebrates its 10th anniversary at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center on November 18th. Closing out Rochester’s “Festival Season” since 2014, Maker Faire Rochester has grown to a highly anticipated annual celebration of creativity.

This year’s Faire features a live performance by renowned pumpkin-carver, Adam Bierton, winner of the Food Network’s Season 5 “Halloween Wars” and on Season 3 of “Outrageous Pumpkins.”

Children’s author and illustrator Brian Yanish will give a presentation and hold a book signing at Maker Faire on Saturday. In addition, Brian will be the keynote speaker for Friday’s Student STEAM Fest.

Local balloon artists Airigami will be leading the construction of a giant balloon sculpture called Piece of Cake, a hands-on collaborative artwork created by Faire attendees.

Maker Faire will once again be held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see Adam Foster’s magnificent Royal Trumpets shooting flames 25 feet into the air on Main Street.

Faire attendees can learn how to solder, check out homemade video games, get tips and tricks from cosplay aficionados, interact with robots, paint with soil, see the latest in 3-D printing technology, experience model railroading, and much more! More than 100 Makers will be coming together at Maker Faire Rochester.

One of only a handful of Featured Maker Faires, Rochester’s Faire is unique in that it is supported by the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE.org). It includes the Student STEAM Fest, which is an opportunity for students in grades 3-8 to come in a day early for hands-on learning and fun with their classes, teachers, and chaperones. The Student STEAM Fest takes place on Friday, November 17th, and is open to Makers who want to share their knowledge and skills with school students. The Student STEAM Fest is ONLY open to school groups and accepted Makers. Maker Faire is open to the public on Saturday, November 18th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Discount tickets can be purchased in advance at rochester.makerfaire.com/ through November 17th. Regular price tickets go on sale Saturday, November 18th online or at the door.
