Sledding is one of the best ways to get out and enjoy the winter weather in Greater Rochester and Monroe County! With nearly 12,000 acres of parkland, Monroe County has all the open outdoor space you could want for the ultimate sledding experience.

Find a few of our favorite spots for sledding below!

 

Black Creek Park (Chili)

Find a designated sledding hill located behind the Woodside Lodge. This hill is open to the public throughout the winter months.

Ellison Park (Penfield)

Ellison Park provides two designated sledding hills that can be found off Landing Road by the Disc Golf Course.

Mendon Ponds Park (Mendon)

Across from the Cavalry House Lodge on Douglas Road and next to the East and West Lodges on Canfield Road, you will find two designated sledding hills. Mendon Ponds Park also offers more than 20 miles of marked cross-country skiing trails.

Northampton Park (Spencerport)

Find the designated sledding hill across the street from the Ski Lodge on Hubble Road. Additionally, Northampton Park features a ski hill with a rope tow, also located on Hubble Road.

Webster Park (Webster)

There is one sledding hill at Webster Park located next to the Parkview Lodge directly off Holt Rd.

Cobbs Hill Park (Rochester)

The best hill for sledding at this park can be found at Cobbs Hill Reservoir facing Monroe Ave.

Highland Park (Rochester)

The iconic Highland Park has a sledding area located at Highland Bowl, just behind the Lamberton Conservatory.

Harris Whalen Park (Penfield)

Find a great sledding hill with open slopes located near Harris Hill Elementary School.

Maplewood Park (Rochester)

Near the Maplewood Rose Garden, you will find the perfect hill for sledding on particularly snowy days.

Laurelton-Pardee School (Irondequoit)

You can find this wide open sledding hill located directly behind the school.
