RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium

Visitors can travel through the universe under our 65-foot dome theater and immerse themselves in star shows based on up-to-date research, and enjoy featured films and brilliant laser light shows. From Star Shows highlighting celestial bodies to featured films giving insight to the natural beauty surrounding us on planet Earth, people can find something new to explore with each visit. Being the only public planetarium within a day's drive of Rochester, the Strasenburgh Planetarium has delighted generations of visitors and continues to inspire curiosity in all those who visit.

While a trip to the Strasenburgh Planetarium can be a fun way to cap off your afternoon, it also serves as an educational resource for the community. Visitors can explore the night sky, learn more about astronomical phenomena, and discover the many secrets our universe holds.

Regardless of why visitors come, they always leave the Strasenburgh Planetarium with positive, enriching experiences.

RMSC Cumming Nature Center

Take a day trip to enjoy this dynamic environmental education center that celebrates the unique landscape and culture of the Finger Lakes region through hands-on learning opportunities and thoughtful exhibits. Nestled between Canandaigua and Honeoye Lakes, our 900-acre preserve is as beautiful as it is vast. Visitors can explore the Visitors Center, enjoy hands-on family events and gallery exhibits, and hike more than 15 miles of trails through diverse habitats.

The nature center’s landscape is constantly changing. Day by day, season by season, the cycles of nature play out in vernal pools, quiet glades, and deep snowbanks. And the best part is, you can experience all of it! During spring, summer, and fall, visitors can hike through wetlands, meadows, and upland forests. In winter, we offer 12 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails and 3 miles of snowshoe trails.

From rare hemlock bogs to active beaver ponds to our iconic 90-year old red pine stand, there’s something for everyone at CNC!
