NCAA DIII Golf Men’s Golf Championships Begin May 20 at Midvale and Cobblestone Creek Country Clubs
Rochester, N.Y., May 16, 2025 – For the second time in the last 10 years, the Rochester area welcomes the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship.
Hosted by St John Fisher University and Rochester NY Sports Commission, the 2025 championship will be held at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield and the Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor May 20 to 23. Both courses will host first- and second-round action simultaneously; Midvale will host the final two rounds.
St. John Fisher first hosted the DIII Men’s Golf Championship in May 2016.
The championship is expected to draw nearly 1,000 student-athletes, coaches, staff and parents to the Rochester area. Teams will be traveling to Rochester from around the country to compete.
Championships are open to the public; tickets are free for all attendees and spectators.

Forty-three teams and 10 individual qualifiers were selected for the 2025 DIII Golf Championship. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals. Ties for the cut will be broken by a sudden-death playoff or, if necessary, by the non-sudden-death tiebreaking procedures.
The host Cardinals, coached by Bob Simms, who’s led the program since 2000, won their 20th Empire 8 Conference title and fourth in a row in April to earn the conference’s automatic bid to the DIII Championship. Graduate senior Nick Tellone, senior RJ Juodaitis and freshmen Nick Years, Robert Fischer and Colin Patterson will compete in the tournament for the Cardinals.
It is projected that the NCAA Golf event will generate an economic impact of more than $1.3 million for Monroe County (source: Destinations International Economic Impact Calculator). The overall economic impact of the tourism and hospitality industry in Monroe County is more than $1.5 billion and responsible for more than 18,000 jobs (source: Tourism Economics). Sports events, including the NCAA Championships, represent a growing segment of visitors to Rochester. The Rochester NY Sports Commission is the sports development arm of Visit Rochester, and is responsible for bringing new and returning sporting events to the Greater Rochester community.
