The New York State Public High School Athletic Association today announced that the New York State Boys Lacrosse Championship for the next three years (championship years 2017, 2018 and 2019) will take place in Rochester, N.Y.
The Championship games will be played at Growney Stadium at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. The next three Championships are scheduled for:
- June 10, 2017
- June 9, 2018
- June 8, 2019
Each year during the NYSPHSAA Boys State Lacrosse Championship eight different teams will compete in four different Class Championships, all played at St. John Fisher College. The Championships regularly draw an average attendance of over 2,100 spectators.
“Once again Section V is excited to welcome the NYSPHSAA back to Rochester for the Boys Lacrosse Championships on the beautiful campus of St. John Fisher College. We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to showcase our community to the best and brightest athletes in the state. A big thank you to the Monroe County Sports Commission, St. John Fisher College and Connors & Ferris for partnering with us to make this possible,” said Mike Simon, Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator.
The New York State Boys Lacrosse Championship has not been held in Rochester since 2013. Visit Rochester and the Monroe County Sports Commission look forward to welcoming players, their families and fans to Greater Rochester and Monroe County for the 2017-2019 Championship games.
