Visit Rochester and the Monroe County Sports Commission will welcome more than 1,700 bowlers to Rochester over the course of the next month as bowlers compete in the 80th annual New York State (NYS) Women’s Bowling Championships. 

The NYS Women’s Bowling Championships features team, doubles and singles competitions. The tournament started the weekend of April 9 and will continue on the weekends – except Mother's Day weekend – through May 15.

“The New York State USBC is thrilled to be able to partner with the Rochester USBC Women's Bowling Association and the Monroe County Sports Commission to conduct our annual Women's Championships in this great city," said Mike Pettinella, NYS USBC association manager and tournament director. "We deeply appreciate the local support -- and anticipate that our women tournament bowlers will have a pleasant experience during their stay in Monroe County."

Complete tournament dates are outlined below:

  • April 9-10
  • April 16-17
  • April 23-24
  • April 30-May 1
  • May 14-15

Team events for the tournament will take place at AMF Dewey Gardens Lanes in Rochester, N.Y, with doubles and singles competition taking place at Bowl-A-Roll in Henrietta, N.Y.

The New York State Women’s Bowling Championship is an annual tournament. Between 300 and 400 bowlers are expected to visit Rochester each of the five weekends of the tournament to compete for cash prizes. For more information on the tournament and New York State USBC visit https://www.bowlny.com/
