Corning Museum of Glass Returns on Terra Firma
See the glassmaking process from start to finish, live! CMoG’s mobile hot glass programs reach approximately 300,000 people around the world each year. See live glass making demonstrations on Liftbridge Lane East Saturday and Sunday!
Nearly 200 Artisans, 40 Food Vendors, join 100 Local Merchants lining the streets and parking lots of the central business district of this historic canal village.
Friday Night Kick-Off event starts at 4:30 at the Fairport Junction festival site on Liftbridge Lane East, and includes the annual chicken barbecue; a concert featuring the Eastman Youth Jazz Orchestra opening for the party band, Allegro. 2018 Canal Days commemorative poster artist, Tom Moyer will be available to sign prints.
Festival Opens Saturday Morning at 10 am. At noon the traditional Main Street parade, featuring the Fairport Fire Department Band, will pause in front of village hall where Mayor Fritz May will officially open the festival. The festival runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm Sunday.
40 Bands Performing on 4 Stages over the course of two days and two nights. Festival features the best of jazz, blues, Americana and more.
Party On at Canal Nights – Saturday evening concert featuring Teagan and the Tweeds and the Miller and the Other Sinners headline the Canal Nights concert, located in the Fairport Junction Festival Site. The show starts at 7 pm with a $5 admission fee.
Family-Friendly YMCA KidZone! Located on North Main Street next to Compane. Features a Charity Dunk Tank – $1 per ball/$5 per bucket – proceeds from which are used to help kids attend YMCA Camp. About $6,000 has been raised in the past three years, sending 30 kids to camp. Other activities include performances by students of Spotlight Studios for Performing Arts, Gaga Pit,
Scentsy – Build A Buddy, iCanCode Club @ the JCC, Bounce Houses, Archery, and Large Yard Games.
Annual Duck Race for Charity Buy a duck and get a chance to win one of many great prizes. Ducks Race starts at 3 pm Sunday afternoon.
