Three Rochester museums have been awarded as top 10 museums in the state, according to the 2022 USA Today's 10Best rankings. USA Today's 10Best contest involves USA Today experts selecting 20 top destinations in the country. Then, the top 10 winners are determined by popular vote. The museums recognized by USA Today's 10Best are the George Eastman Museum, The Strong Museum, and the RMSC Museum and Science Center.
“The Strong is honored to again be recognized nationally by readers of USA Today as one of the top museums for children and families in the country. It’s great to be joined by other Rochester museum icons, too. People from far and wide now recognize what our local fans already know—that Rochester is pound-for-pound one of the top cultural destinations in the nation," said Steve Dubnik, President & CEO, The Strong Museum.
The George Eastman Museum ranked as #8 in the Best Art Museums, the RMSC Museum & Science Center ranked as #8 in the Top Science Museums, and The Strong Museum ranked as #5 in the Best Children's Museums.
“Seeing the work we do at the RMSC Museum & Science Center recognized on a national level is incredible,” said Hillary Olson, President and CEO of the RMSC. “It’s inspiring for the entire RMSC team to see that our community, visitors, and members believe in the value we provide to our region as a place to learn and engage with science.”

About the George Eastman Museum
The George Eastman Museum is located in Rochester, New York, on the estate of George Eastman, the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film. Founded in 1947 as an independent nonprofit institution, it is the world’s oldest photography museum and one of the oldest film archives. The museum holds unparalleled collections—encompassing several million objects—in the fields of photography, cinema, and photographic and cinematographic technology, and photographically illustrated books.
The institution is also a longtime leader in film preservation and photographic conservation. There is always something new and different to engage, educate, or entertain visitors at the Eastman Museum. At all times, there are at least three temporary exhibitions on photography and cinema—most of which change about every four months—in the main exhibition galleries, the Project Gallery for contemporary works, the History of Photography Gallery, and on the second floor of the mansion George Eastman’s historic mansion and gardens, where one can see how this visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist lived for almost thirty years during the early twentieth century.
