Rochester Welcomes 600 Educators for PLC at Work® Institute
As teachers across the region prepare to return to the classroom, more than 600 educators are participating in the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® Institute, a program of Solution Tree. The three-day program, August 19-21, features keynote speakers, breakout sessions and networking opportunities for educators.
PLC center around three core ideas: a focus on learning, building a collaborative culture, and results orientation— enabling participants to gain specific, practical, and inspiring strategies for transforming schools and district into a place where all students learn at high levels.
“Solution Tree chose Rochester because the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center is an exceptional venue that perfectly aligned with our needs,” said Kristina Simmonds, Solution Tree Events Manager. “The space is ideal for our PLC at Work® Institute, allowing us to offer a highly engaging and effective learning environment throughout the three days of the event. It reflects our commitment to providing accessible and high-quality professional development to educators.”
The Professional Learning Communities at Work® process is increasingly recognized as the most powerful strategy for sustained, substantive school improvement. Solution Tree’s PLC at Work Institutes introduce educators and their teams to this research-based, results-driven process for school improvement in addition to evidence of effectiveness from schools just like them. As an attendee, each educator will gain foundational knowledge and practical implementation strategies that have a real impact on student learning.
More than 600 educators from across the northeast are attending the event in Rochester.
