MISSION: The Rochester NY Sports Commission is to promote Monroe County as a destination for hosting sporting events. Bringing athletes, spectators, and visitors from out of town has an important impact on our community’s economic impact while increasing the hotel room nights.
OBJECTIVE: The Sports Sponsorship program is available for athletic events consisting of competitions, tournaments, and other sports-related events taking place in Monroe County. The sponsorship program is designed to promote and grow new sporting events and to encourage events to become self-sustaining. The sponsorship program is not intended to be a long-term funding source for events; however, will allow for the opportunity to enhance and grow repeat events.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a sporting event that attracts out-of-town visitors and generates room nights within Monroe County.
Sporting events may consist of youth sports, high school athletic activities, team sports, individual sports, adult/youth amateur events, and collegiate tournaments & championships.
The number of out-of-town athletes and room block pick-ups must be submitted to the Rochester Sports Commission no later than 30 days after the event.
An invoice must be submitted to the Rochester Sports Commission no later than 30 days after the event. If an invoice is not submitted within 30 days, the Rochester Sports Commission reserves the right to void the sponsorship.
Funds must be spent between January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025.
Application Deadline: November 1, 2024
Eligible events taking place Jan. 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025.
You will be notified by November 15, 2024 of the approved sponsorship.
