Agricultural Fair

Open Map Blurred Map

Don't miss one of our most beloved events of year - the Agricultural Fair at Genesee Country Village & Museum! Celebrate the bountiful Western NY harvest as the Museum shines in its finest fall colors. Enjoy livestock and cooking demonstrations, entertainment for the whole family, and shopping for unique finds at the market in the tradition of the country fairs of days gone by.

Shop a farmer's market, complete with fresh, flavorful and wholesome smoked meats, honey, apples, cheeses, maple syrup, baked goods and other tempting wares for sale to satisfy the palates of many. All items are grown or made right here in Western New York. So mark your shopping list and head to the fair!

Laugh along with the famous T. Bohrer's One-and-Only Punch and Judy Show. Consult our resident phrenologist as to the character reflected by the shape of your skull. Relax with live music by The Lonely Ones and a cold beverage on the Great Meadow. Then, explore demonstrations of vintage agricultural equipment on the Village Square. As was common at 19th-century fairs, the men's base ball teams will square off for the Mayor’s Cup Championship trophy. Games will be held in Silver Base Ball Park, the only replica 1800s base ball park in the nation. GCV&M's ladies' base ball hosts the final game of the season on the Great Meadow.

Visit Pioneer Farm to meet the museum's cattle, sheep, and fowl. Explore an extensive range of bird life in the Waterfowl Tent and Exhibition Barn during the Rochester Poultry Association's 114th Annual Show. Watch professional sheep herding dogs from Cherry Hill Training Center round up the herd. Befriend horses and donkeys as they parade around the Great Meadow and Historic Village.

Explore the entries into our Blue Ribbon Competition, with exhibitions in more than 150 categories of judged baked goods, preserves, hand-made needlecrafts and the industrial arts—including tin, iron and wooden wares; pottery; cooperage (barrel making); printing; and broom and soap making.

A wonderful fall weekend for the whole family!
