Sparks will fly across Rochester this Independence Day. This is a list of Fourth of July celebrations taking place in Rochester, NY and the Finger Lakes. No matter what corner of the region you are visiting, you will find something fun for everyone.
City of Rochester's High Falls Drone Light Show + Fireworks
July 4 | Downtown Rochester
Enjoy a 15-minute light show over High Falls at 10:00 p.m. featuring 200 drones followed by fireworks over Rochester's downtown bridges. The best viewing areas for the light show include the Pont de Rennes, High Falls area, and High Falls Terrace Park. The best viewing areas for the fireworks include the Main Street Bridge, Broad St Bridge, Court St Bridge. All bridges will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Town of Brighton - 5K + Fireworks
July 4 | Meridian Centre Park
The 5K race starts at 8:00 a.m. with evening activities starting in the park at 8:00 p.m. with performances by The Skycoasters and fireworks at 9:50 p.m.
Town of Chili Fireworks
July 4 | Chili’s Memorial Park
While the annual Chil-E Fest has been cancelled, fireworks will still happen at 10:00 p.m. and will be visible from Chili's Memorial Park off Old Scottsville Chili Road.
Genesee Country Village & Museum - Independence Day Celebration
July 4 | Genesee Country Village & Museum
Celebrate America's birthday with a family-friendly day at GCV&M. Learn how 19th-century Americans may have celebrated Independence Day as you wander through the village and participate in themed activities.
Town of Greece - Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
July 4 | Greece Town Hall Campus
The 5K race starts at 7:30 a.m. followed by a kid-friendly Super Hero Sprint at 9:00 a.m. Food trucks will be open for business at 5:30 p.m. with kid activities starting at 6:30 p.m. A concert series with Nik and the Nice Guys and Gary Lewis the Playboys will begin at 8:00 p.m. with fireworks launching at 9:45 p.m.
Town of Henrietta - 4th of July Celebration
July 4 | Veterans Memorial Park
This year's event begins with the Craft Show and Garage Sale at the Henrietta Senior Center from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The town will also be hosting an outdoor concert, featuring music by Brass Taxi and a fantastic fireworks display. The concert begins at 7:45 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park and will be followed immediately by fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Children's activities including bounce houses, crafts, and lawn games open at 5:00 p.m.
Town of Irondequoit - 4th of July Festival
July 4 | Town Hall
Activities for this year's festival includes a 10K and 2 mile fun run in the morning with the town's parade at 11:00 a.m. Entertainment and food trucks will be around Town Hall with fireworks happening at 9:30 p.m.
Town of Penfield Parade + Fireworks
July 3 | Harris Whalen Park
The Penfield Independence Day parade begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3 with a fireworks show launching from Harris Whalen Park at 10:00 p.m.
Celebrate America’s birthday as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra performs popular red, white and blue melodies complete with fireworks! The event is happening at CMAC in Canandaigua, NY.
Conesus Lake Ring of Fire
July 3 | Long Point Park
Shortly after sunset, lakeside residents light road flares and torches at the lake's edge, creating a "ring of fire." The town of Livonia will set fireworks off once it is completely dark.
