Roc Pride 2019 celebrates the accomplishments and history of the LGBTQ+ community. Produced by Out Alliance, Roc Pride is one of New York State's largest pride festivals north of New York City. Now in its 30th year, Roc Pride encourages the community to be true to themselves, find inspiration from icons in the LGBTQ+ community and utilize every color of the spectrum to highlight individuality and diversity.
With nine days filled with a range of events, we've pulled together a guide with what you need to know about Roc Pride 2019.
Saturday, July 13
Q-Day at Seabreeze
Seabreeze Amusement Park | 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Q-Day gives members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families, friends, and supporters a day to come together for fun, sun, rides, food, at Seabreeze Amusement Park.
Iconic Concert with RGMC & RWCC
The Hochstein School | 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm
The Rochester Gay Men's Choir is collaborating with the Out Alliance to make their final concert of the season a Rochester Pride event. Joining the Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus will be the Rochester Women’s Community Chorus and the Rochester City Pride Band. The concert will culminate in The Big Gay Sing, which will feature karaoke versions of top pop songs for the audience to sing along.
Sunday, July 14
ROC Pride 5K
Cobbs Hill Park | 8:30 am to 11:30 am
Run, walk, skip, or sashay to your heart's desire in the Roc Pride 5K! This race is a community organized, family-friendly event that will take racers through the beautiful Cobb's Hill neighborhood.
Stonewall Cookout
Genesee Valley Park | 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Enjoy the Rochester tradition of having a Cookout at Genesee Valley Park as a way to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Bring your own food, games, and friends to this free event.
Monday, July 15
Opening Ceremonies
City Hall | 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Gather at the steps of Rochester City Hall for the Opening Ceremonies of Roc Pride 2018. Bring flags to celebrate and honor the legacies of local and iconic members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Fabulous Lives
Equal Grounds Coffee | 7:30 pm
This event will capture the rich history of drag in Rochester, past, present, and future and will also explore the art of drag.
Tuesday, July 16
Pronoun Workshop
The Out Alliance | 10:00 am to 11:30 am OR 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
This is a free, fun, and interactive workshop focusing on understanding the importance of proper pronoun use and tips for creating inclusive spaces where everyone is referred to respectfully
Euchre Tournament
The Out Alliance | 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
YETI has teamed up with Roc Pride to host a fundraiser for the Out Alliance. Tournament entry cost is $30 per person and includes pizza, snacks, and one complimentary drink at the cash bar. Space is limited!
Wednesday, July 17
LGBTQ Historic Walking Tour
Monroe Ave | 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Discover the story of Rochester’s LGBTQ Resistance movement that took place in the Monroe Avenue neighborhood during the ’70s and ’80s.
Bar Crawl
Starting at 140 Alex Bar & Grill | 8:00 pm to 2:00 am
Enjoy a night of drinks, fun, and pride. Take the bus as it travels to the following bars: 140 Alex Bar & Grill, Spirit Room, Lux Lounge, Avenue Pub, and Bachelor Forum. 21+
Thursday, July 18
Pride In The Park featuring Almost Queen
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Sqaure | 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
ROC Pride has partnered with the City of Rochester to present Pride in the Park with the Queen tribute band, Almost Queen.
Euchre Tournament
The Out Alliance | 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
YETI has teamed up with Roc Pride to host a fundraiser for the Out Alliance. Tournament entry cost is $30 per person and includes pizza, snacks, and one complimentary drink at the cash bar. Space is limited!

Silent Disco
Cobbs Hill Park | 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Dance the night away in Cobb's Hill Park with Roc Pride's second annual silent disco! Never been to a silent disco? You control the music you dance to with wireless headphones.
Saturday, July 20
Pre-Parade Party
Memorial Art Gallery | 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Make a sign or button to take with you and show your support at the Pride Parade. Learn about the history of the Stonewall riots and the fight for LGBTQ equality! Add a message to Memorial Art Gallery's Rainbow Ribbon Wall in celebration of Rochester Pride. Enjoy food and refreshments for purchase from Brown Hound Downtown before heading over to the Pride Parade.
ROC Pride Parade
Park & Alexander | 1:00 pm Step Off
The annual Roc Pride Parade starts from Park Avenue and Alexander Street and makes it way down Park Avenue to Brunswick Street. Whether you are marching, riding with a group, or watch from the parade route-- this event is fun for everyone.
ROC Pride Fest- Day 1

Roc Pride Fest is jam-packed with games, activities, food, refreshments, and performances in Cobb's Hill Park.

Trans Community Sip & Paint
Lake Riley Lodge | 11:00 am to 1:00pm
Support the Transgender and gender –fluid community during the inaugural Trans & Friends Community Paint and Sip Event!
Drag Bingo
Lake Riley Lodge | 2:00 pm
Come out to Lake Riley Lodge for a special pride edition of Rochester's Drag Queen Bingo. The event includes drag performances, bingo games, great prizes, and lots of fun!
