It's a celebration! 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Rochester Puerto Rican Festival--the longest-running ethnic festival in Rochester, NY. We're sharing three things you should know about this year's festival happening August 16, 17, and 18 at the Frontier Field VIP Lot.

The History

The Puerto Rican Festival was founded in 1969 for the purpose of celebrating, recognizing, and sharing the culture of the growing Puerto Rican population in Rochester, NY. The festival is an annual three-day event, which averages a daily attendance of 7,000 people of all cultures and ethnic backgrounds.

The festival features:

  • Arts - A variety of Hispanic artists are invited to set up booths to exhibit and sell their artwork.

  • Authentic Food & Drinks - Meals are provided by a variety of local vendors that serve the typical Puerto Rican cuisine.

  • Live Music -

In addition to headliners, the festival includes many local bands, dance groups, youth boxing, domino tournament, and youth performances.

  • Community Agency Fair - A variety of local public and private community agencies will provide a wealth of information with members of the community with topics including critical health issues Hispanics face to law enforcement recruiting.

  • Cultural Pageant - The festival introduces Miss Puerto Rico of Rochester cultural pageant 2019 Queen and Princess!

Hours, Tickets & Parking

The festival is open Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with paid admission starting at 2:00 p.m. The festival is open on Sunday, August 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with paid admission starting at noon Tickets are $12 at the door each day and $5 each day for children and senior citizens. Kids age five and younger are free. Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.  Parking is available at Frontier Field with some street parking around the stadium.
