How Rochester Attractions Are Reopening

Long House at Ganondagan Historic Site

Ganondagan State Historic Site 

Ganondagan State Historic Site’s Seneca Art & Culture Center and Bark Longhouse is open Tuesday-Saturday with reduced capacity and additional health and safety adjustments. While the Ganondagan experience might look a little different the meaningful experience of Seneca culture will be the same. Guests over the age of two are required to wear a face mask and the historic site has designated areas that will allow for distance between guests.

Genesee Country Village & Museum

Genesee Country Village & Museum (GCV&M) is open to the public on weekends--Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Due to COVID-related restrictions, maximum capacity for the museum is 750 guests. Pre-purchased tickets guarantee your admittance to the museum.

To maintain an atmosphere of healthy fun, GCV&M has put safety protocols in place in accordance with state and local guidelines. For mutual protection it is ask that all visitors please practice social distancing and to wear your mask.

The George Eastman Museum

George Eastman Museum

The George Eastman Museum is open to the public with new guidelines and measures that prioritize the health and safety of guests and staff. 

New measures include face coverings/masks while in the museum and while on the grounds when not able to maintain 6' social distancing and one-way path and alternative routes. Due to reduced capacity, advanced tickets are recommended. Please note the museum's new hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm and Sunday, 11 am -5 pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Art Gallery photo demonstrates our rich arts scene

Memorial Art Gallery

Following the guidance from health partners, state, and national government officials, the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) will be reopening with limited capacity and new safety measures and open to all on July 8, 2020. Museum hours will remain the same: Wednesday-Sunday 11 am-5 pm; Thursdays and select Fridays until 9 pm.

MAG’s reopening includes new safety guidelines including physical distancing with signage, mask wearing at all times, increased cleaning protocols, and more. Information on timed tickets will be coming soon.

Rochester Museum & Science Center

Rochester Museum & Science Center

Adventures at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) might look a little different, but the exciting experience of discovery and exploration will be the same. RMSC, Strasenburgh Planetarium, and Cumming Nature Center are open to the public. It is asked that you keep the RMSC a safe space for yourself, for all visitors, and for staff by wearing a mask, staying with your party when walking through the museum by keeping children within reach at all times, following directional signage throughout the museum, and more.

Elephants at Seneca Park Zoo

Seneca Park Zoo

The Seneca Park Zoo is open to the public, with new policies to ensure the safety of guests, animals and staff. A limited number of guests and members will be admitted each day with safety precautions in place including face coverings required for all guests over the age of two, markers throughout the zoo to help with social distancing and guide you through the new one way path. Be sure to make your reservations to obtain your tickets.

The Strong Mask-Friendly

The Strong Museum of Play

As The Strong reopens, you will notice some changes including touchless payments, limited capacity, timed tickets, and enhanced sanitation protocols. While the museum experience will be a bit different from the last time that you visited, one essential thing will remain the same: promoting the importance of play, with its power to teach, spark imagination, and create joy. The Strong follows guidelines and recommendations from state and county health departments including physical distancing measures, face mask wearing, and additional sanitation measures. Reducing daily guest capacity and new timed tickets allow guests to have more room to play!

Susan B. Anthony

Susan B. Anthony Museum & House 

The Susan B. Anthony Museum & House has reopened its doors to the public for tours on Tuesdays-Sundays. Admission to the museum is through advance online ticket sales. Visitors over the age of two are required to wear a face covering on the campus. 

Your guided interpreted experience will be 45 minutes. For the safety of visitors, staff, and volunteers, much of the tour will be outdoors, except for a walk-through of the first floor of the Susan B. Anthony House, featuring the front parlor where she was arrested for voting.
