Rochester's first taste of science festival kicks off with Jeff Wyatt, presenting on his successful restoration of the lake sturgeon to the Genesee River. The sturgeon is a contemporary of the dinosaur, rendered nearly extinct from industrial pollution in 1990. After painstaking measures to restore their habitat, data is showing the success in restoring this species. Jeff will present with his 6ft fiberglass sturgeon in tow!
Following a short intermission, Dan Krisher will present on what New York State was like 380 million years ago. Dan offers an engaging take on our prehistoric backyard. Dan has also been known to display some impressive fossils, which make an appearance in his presentation!
