Live from Hochstein - Settling the Score: A Celebration of Female Composers

The Hochstein School’s free Live from Hochstein concert series features the Semplice Duo: Hochstein alumna Cristina Ballatori, flute, and Kevin Chance, piano. Part of Hochstein's Centennial Celebration!
This concert celebrates the music of female composers from the 18th through 21st Centuries in an eclectic program featuring works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Valerie Coleman, Princess Amalie of Prussia, and Amanda Harberg.

The Semplice Duo was formed in 2000 with the goal of introducing audiences to the less frequently performed chamber music for flute and piano.

Hochstein alumna Cristina Ballatori has performed across the United States, Europe, England, and Latin America as a recitalist, soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She now teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Named Teacher of the Year by the Alabama Music Teachers Association, pianist Kevin T. Chance has performed throughout the United States and abroad as both soloist and collaborator.

The Hochstein School’s free lunchtime “brown bag” Live from Hochstein concert series takes place in the Hochstein Performance Hall and is broadcast live on WXXI Classical 91.5/ 90.3 FM, hosted by Classical 91.5’s Mona Seghatoleslami.
