Women play an important role in many cultures, and the same is true for the Seneca Nation. The public is invited to join author Sally Roesch Wagner and Mohawk Clanmother Louise McDonald for an open discussion on Hodinöhsö:ni’ and Euro-American women’s spiritual, economic, social, and political roles.
They will reflect on the largely ignored and untold history of the impact Hodinöhsö:ni’ women had on the minds of the leaders of the Women’s Rights movement in the United States including Matilda Joselyn Gage, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony. These and other women had direct and personal contact with Hodinöhsö:ni’ women which had a significant positive impact on their fight for equality.
