Students from accross NYS perform at Rochester's Eastman Theatre during NYSMMA Conference

NYSSMA, The New York State School Music Association, represents over 10,000 active and retired music teachers, secondary school and college music students, and friends and supporters of music education. The NYSSMA winter conference has been held in Rochester, NY for the past 19 years and utilizes the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center and downtown hotels. The All-State concert is held at the Eastman Theater.  The conference draws up to 2,000 music educators (in-service, retired and collegiate), 890 All-State high school students (juniors & seniors), 2,000+ music parents and several hundred performing groups to the conference each year.

OneHockey

Rochester Invitational Hockey Tournament

December 16-18

OneHockey tournaments have made a positive mark as one of the top tournaments in North America, by offering a great hockey atmosphere, giveaways, and most of all, great competition. OneHockey is a 5-star hockey tournament with a very unique format. Athletes, coaches and family will enjoy up-tempo music during all games and throughout the rink, mascots to entertain, and family fun. This is more than a hockey tournament this is an Event!

Global Kingdom Young Adult Mission Festival (GKYM Fest)

December 27-30

GKYM is one of the most well-known Korean American mission organizations in the U.S. This year they will host the 10th conference at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, New York. GKYM brings together Korean American young adults scattered all over the world to raise them up as missionary workers. The upcoming 10th conference is centered on the theme, “We the Messengers,” and includes a lineup of international speakers and musical performances. Attendees are encourage to bring their whole family.

This international tournament showcases the battle of Nations–Canada vs USA. Teams wear their country's jerseys with pride and battle the opposition for bragging rights. The points for each victory go towards each nation's total amount, rather than just a win or a loss for the individual team. Whether rooting for the USA or Canada be sure to catch all the action at the Bill Gray’s Iceplex this January.

New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs

January 13-16

Apple Orchard in New York State

The New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs will hold their 21st consecutive Annual convention in Rochester this January. NYSAAF provides support to local County Fairs that showcase New York’s best in agriculture and livestock. Each year they help Fairs to create exhibits or facility improvements that support agriculture during their annual events.  These funds enable the local Fair to present something about New York agriculture with an emphasis on education and product promotion in the local area.  Agriculture is New York State's #1 Industry.

Empire State Cup

MYHockey strives to enhance the overall tournament experience for players, parents, and coaches both on and off the ice. They offer a wide variety of tournaments at attractive locations throughout the country to bring the best matched competition together for top level hockey. Rochester is pleased to be chosen as a location for 6 tournaments this season, including the Empire State Cup.
