#VisitROC's Guide To: CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival 2019

The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival (RIJF) returns for its 18th Edition June 21-June 29. With nine days filled with amazing music, we've pulled together a guide with the must-knows for getting around Rochester's top music event.

Did you know? RIJF is presented in three series. The Club Pass series with 220+ shows, the Headliner series of six shows, and 100 free shows and events series--all of which are held within 20 venues throughout Rochester's East End.

The Club Pass Series

You can purchase a 3-day shareable Club Pass, 9-day shareable Club Pass, or single entry to Club Pass shows. Note: Entry without a pass will be first-come-first-served for $30 or $35, cash only, at the venues.

The Headliner Series

Ticketed headliner shows at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre will feature:

  • Steve Gadd Band, June 21

  • Patti LaBelle, June 22

  • Marc Cohn and the Blind Boys of Alabama, June 25

  • Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, June 26

  • George Benson, June 27

  • Steve Miller Band + Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, June 28

Free Shows & Events Series

All 100 free shows and events require NO ticket and happen rain or shine. Just some of the featured artists include:

  • The Legendary Downchild Blues Band 50th Anniversary Tour featuring Dan Aykroyd, June 21

  • Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, June 22

  • The Allman Betts Band, June 28

  • Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, returning to the Festival for their seventh appearance on June 29

Official Jam Sessions happen nightly start at 10:30 p.m. at The Street Craft Kitchen & Bar located off the lobby area of the Hyatt Regency Rochester

Free Shuttle

A free, wheelchair accessible, shuttle bus will circulate all nine days of the fest from 3:00 p.m. to midnight stopping at key festival venues.

Parking

There is ample parking all around the festival. Please read signs carefully as parking is not permitted on some streets or in private lots. Click here for additional parking information. 

Bikes

Bikes are for rent via Pace at multiple locations around downtown Rochester. Here are the Pace bikeshare stations are in and around the festival:

  • Euclid (near Parcel 5)

  • Elm and Clinton (near Parcel 5)

  • Main & Scio (adjacent to Hatch Recital Hall)

  • East Main & Franklin  - Liberty Pole Plaza (near Temple Bldg Theater)

  • East & Winthrop (near The Little Theatre)

  • East & Alexander

  • Chestnut & Court (near MLK Park)

  • Woodbury Blvd (near Geva Theatre Center)

Food + Beverages

A wide variety of food trucks, and food and beverage vendors at the festival on Main St., and East Ave., and at several Club Pass venues. There are also many great restaurants in the festival area.

Brochure + Free App

The 2019 RIJF brochure is available at the Ticket Shop, at M&T Bank branches, and many other locations around Rochester. Pick one up during the festival at any venue. Download the free RIJF app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for a mobile version of the festival's full schedule, list of artists, venues, maps, news and links to buy tickets online and social media posts.

Accommodations 

The Hyatt Regency Rochester is the official hotel of the 2019 RIJF. A special jazz fest package is available that includes a $209 rate, two 1-day Club Passes plus breakfast for two. To make your reservations, please click here.
